Students are learning a grade level above their current grade in mathematics through the My Math curriculum from McGraw Hill. Both teachers and parents have online access to curriculum materials to best support students. Teachers also supplement student learning through extra practice utilizing IXL math.
The Journeys Language Arts curriculum from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt serves as the foundation of the language arts curriculum. To individualize the learning of each student, teachers also use an online program called Accelerated Reader (AR.) This online program helps teachers manage and monitor each student’s reading practice.
Weekly lessons in science and Lego Robotics introduce our students to the various concepts of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) at a young age.
Weekly classes in the art studio offer students a safe space to explore and create art in a caring and nurturing environment. Students will develop language skills as they discuss different art form and the history of art. Students will also learn to work with new mediums and different techniques.
In kindergarten, the classroom environment encourages the growth of children’s self-esteem, their cultural their independence and their individual strengths. Most children are naturally curious, so our teachers will guide and direct the children’s curiosity to foster their love of learning.
Weekly lessons in Spanish sought to improve each student’s listening, reading, speaking and writing skills. In addition, the course will also increase the understanding of the history, culture and traditions of the respective countries that speaks that primary language.
