Students at the Science Academy of Chicago participate in various competitions throughout the year. In the last few years, our students have participated and have received awards in all of the STEAM fields – Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.

Robotics Team Ranked 3rd Place among 13 teams for the East Lake Division FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics League
For the League’s Lake Division, the Robotics Team Shockwave ranked 5th Place among 25 teams in the FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics League
In the Championship Matchup at Highland Park High School, the Robotics Team Shockwave qualified in 8th place among 23 teams in the FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics League
Second Place in the State of IL for Grades 3-5 Illinois School Bus Safety Week of 2017
