Students in the ESL program receive small-group instruction through a pull-out model during the school week. Lessons are tailored to each student’s language proficiency level and focus on developing skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Instruction is designed to complement classroom learning while building confidence in using English for both academic and social purposes.
We use the WIDA English Language Development Standards to guide instruction and to assess student progress. Students are evaluated annually using the ACCESS for ELLs assessment, which measures growth in English proficiency and helps inform instructional planning.
Our ESL teachers collaborate closely with classroom teachers to ensure students receive appropriate language support and meaningful access to the curriculum. The ESL program values students’ cultural and linguistic backgrounds and is committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment where all students can succeed.
