What is IJAS? IJAS stands for the Illinois Junior Academy of Science. IJAS aims to promote the study and participation in science by students and teachers, encouraging them to view science as an interdisciplinary study applicable to society and its interactions with the environment. IJAS provides opportunities for students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills through independent research projects, presentations, and participation in science fairs.
Every year, Science Academy of Chicago participated in this event. Our school consistently achieves excellent results, with 2024 and 2025 marking a standout year where we won 1st place in both the paper and poster sessions. IJAS Region 2 as usual held in Northeastern Illinois University. SAC was granted the TOP school out of 27 private schools in the area in both Paper and Poster sessions at the Illinois Junior Academy of Science (IJAS) 2025 Fair! We are proud of our students’ hard work and dedication, which continues to drive our success in this prestigious competition.
